Anastasia graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology in 2012. She went on to complete her Masters of Physical Therapy in 2014. Since graduating, she has worked in private practice with a focus on orthopaedics. She has experience treating individuals of all ages (babies to seniors) and with varying ailments, including athletes, persons with acute, chronic or overuse injuries, post surgical clients, and those who were in car accidents and work injuries. Having danced with Yevshan Ukrainian Folk Ballet Ensemble for many years, she also has a special interest in treating dancers.
Anastasia believes in treating the whole person, and in her approach you can expect an individualized treatment plan that involves a combination of manual therapy, exercise prescription and client education. She values the opportunity to work with each of her clients to empower them to achieve their goals and improve their well-being.
After graduation she has gone on to complete many post graduate educational courses. She is working toward completing her Diploma in Advanced Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy, having completed up to Level 3 Lower Quadrant. She is certified in Biomedical Dry Needling, Myofascial Cupping, and the Functional Movement Screen. She has also taken extra courses on pain, osteo- and rheumatoid arthritis, and hand injuries.
Since the birth of her son, Anastasia has had a keen interest in pre- and postnatal rehabilitation, and therefore went on to become a Pregnancy and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist. Aside from managing client’s aches and pains, she helps treat pelvic floor dysfunctions (incontinence, prolapse) and diastasis. In the postpartum period (at any age) she educates her clients on safely returning to exercise/activity and running, and helps restore optimal posture and alignment for prevention of injury. She is passionate about helping all women, and men, return to activities they love.
Outside of work, Anastasia enjoys keeping busy and active with her family (partner, three kids and two dogs). She loves to play ball hockey all year round, and has competed with women’s provincial teams at Nationals the last three summers. In the summer you can find her paddle boarding at the river with her family or rollerblading her dogs, and in the winter you can find her at the gym or at home staying warm.
